Chamber Night @ UNO

Did you miss the 1st Chamber Nights @ UNO?

No worries, please join us for the 2nd Chamber Nights @ UNO, Monday, October 21, 2019 at the University of New Orleans Performing Arts Center where musicians of all levels will meet for 2 hours (7:30 – 9:30 PM) for an evening of chamber music reading fun!

Participate 1 of 2 ways!

1) As an individual musician, playing chamber music with others that have registered for Chamber Nights @ UNO.

2) As an already formed chamber ensemble wanting (free) coaching & optional performance opportunity.

Individual Musicians:

-Student, amateur, or professional pianist, harpist, singer, woodwind, brass, percussion, guitar, or string player.

-Looking to play chamber music with like-minded musicians in a friendly supportive, educational environment.

Ensembles will be formed based on instrumentation.

Repertoire to be read will be announced no later than October 14, 2019 via email and social media.

– Looking for a coach or interested in a coaching session by UNO applied faculty
– Looking for more performance opportunities
OR
– Planning to register for NOLA Chamber Fest 2020 and feel your ensemble would benefit from additional coaching and/or performance opportunities.

Registered ensembles will receive (free) coaching from UNO applied music faculty and the chance to perform for each other in a friendly, supportive and educational environment.

– Would you like to get together with other musicians and play chamber music in a friendly, supportive, educational environment?
– Are you looking to meet like-minded musicians?

If you answered “yes” to any of these questions and are a student, amateur, or professional pianist, harpist, singer, woodwind, brass, or string player, you are invited to the first of many Chamber Nights @ UNO! On Monday, September 16th, musicians of all levels will meet for 2 hours (7:30 – 9:30 PM) in the Performing Arts Building on the UNO campus for our first session of chamber music reading fun! Ensembles will be formed based on instrumentation, so please register using this link http://bit.ly/2KXlNs1. Repertoire to be read will be announced no later than Sept. 9, 2019 via email and social media.

New Orleans Civic Symphony

Join Dr. Charles Taylor and the New Orleans Civic Symphony at the University of New Orleans Performing Arts Center recital hall for an evening of fun and familiar classics. On the program is Modest Modest Mussorgsky’s (1839–1881), Night on Bald Mountain (1886), Edvard Grieg’s (1843-1907), Peer Gynt Suite #1 (1875), W.A. Mozart’s (1756 – 1791), Overture from Don Giovanni (1787), and Sir Edward Elgar’s (1857 – 1934), Serenade for Strings (1892).

As always, admission is FREE!

New Orleans Civic Symphony: Spring Concert

Join us Sunday, March 17th, for our annual spring concert. Kids will receive a fun trivia quiz that they can take throughout the show an return at the end of the concert for a PRIZE!
